Chicago UK Tour

Venue: Wolverhampton Grand Theatre
Date: Monday 14th May
Seats: G Row Stalls
Chicago the musical proved to be a real touch of “Class” last night as the West End hit arrived in Wolverhampton. Lead by a star studded cast, the enthralled audience were taken upon a journey into 1920’s Chicago and enticed by a tale of murder, greed, corruption and treachery. The slick ensemble did not put a foot out of place and were every inch reminiscent of the classic Fosse style. Former ‘Hollyoaks’ star Ali Bastian and ‘Corrie’s’ Tupele Dorgu were perfectly cast as the 'scintillating sinners' - Roxie Hart and Velma Kelly respectively. Dorgu's dazzling rendition of "All that Jazz" would not look out of place in the West End - a far cry from the cobbles of Weatherfield! Other commendable performances came from Stefan Booth as heart-throb lawyer Billy Flynn and Genevieve Nicole understudy to Bernie Nolan as Matron "Mama" Morton. With a toe-tapping musical score and a fantastic orchestra led by Adrian Kirk, this  production certainly has something for everyone! It would be a sin to miss it!!
